Vision for Dementia

Vision for Dementia offers specialist training in the following areas:

• Dementia awareness training.
• Visual impairment in older people and people with dementia.
• Sensory impairment in older people/people with dementia.
• Emotional effects of sight loss for older people/people with dementia.
• Reducing social isolation of older people with sight loss.
• WRAP (wellness, recovery action planning) for people with dementia and/or sensory impairment
• Life story work and reminiscence with people with sight loss.
• Living with sight loss as a carer.
• Assessment and care management within personalisation of older people with sight loss and/or dementia.

Further services include:

• Service user evaluations - hearing the voice of people with dementia.
• Development of the SENSIS model of reducing social isolation for older people with sight loss.
• Small scale project management e.g. development of dementia cafes, user involvement.
• Consultancy in specialist areas - e.g. service development; training needs analysis of staff; user involvement.

A person-centred approach underpins all training.
