Vision for Dementia
Vision for Dementia offers specialist training in the
following areas:
- Dementia awareness training.
- Visual impairment in older people and people with
dementia.
- Sensory impairment in older people/people with
dementia.
- Emotional effects of sight loss for older people/people
with dementia.
- Reducing social isolation of older people with sight loss.
- WRAP (wellness, recovery action planning) for people
with dementia and/or sensory impairment
- Life story work and reminiscence with people with sight loss.
- Living with sight loss as a carer.
- Assessment and care management within
personalisation of older people with sight loss and/or
dementia.
Further services include:
- Service user evaluations - hearing the voice of people
with dementia.
- Development of the SENSIS model of reducing social
isolation for older people with sight loss.
- Small scale project management e.g. development of
dementia cafes, user involvement.
- Consultancy in specialist areas - e.g. service
development; training needs analysis of staff; user
involvement.
A person-centred approach underpins all training.
